31 FLAVORS

SPIRIT
goes straight
to dessert
We are not talking ice cream here, but, the 31 flavors of fear.
We
are really capable of only two emotions; LOVE and fear. Each
represents the operating systems we came into our experience with; LOVE,
representing our TRUE spiritual REALITY, and fear, representing the
unreality of our own creation.
LOVE
is generally mis-characterized as an emotion, which it is not. It is
more accurately described as a feeling. Fear, on the other hand, is an
emotion with 31 flavors of expression, none of them very appealing.
The
31 flavors of fear include, but are not limited to, anger, hate,
jealousy, envy, strife, frustration, confusion, depression, spite, lust,
condescension, doubt, turmoil . . . and on and on.
Some
may argue that each of these is comprised of their own unique DNA, but
that is not the case. If we pull back the curtain far enough, the only
face we see is that of fear.
In
the prodigal son’s little misadventure, he probably had samplings of
all the above, and then some--the particulars are left to our own
imagination. What he did discover was that he did not have an appetite
for such a diet. Instead, his taste buds had a hankering for the grub
of LOVE/JOY/PEACE--the trifecta of HOME cooking.
Our
31 flavor experience is one diet we can decide to change. We know how
it goes: if we have it in the house, we are going to eat it. So, the
solution lies in not buying it in the first place.
Leaving it in the store will keep it out of our house and off our waste line.
This is a diet worth considering.
