WHO HAS YOUR EAR?

DEVELOP
an ear
for the whispers of SPIRIT

you might finally
get something
RIGHT

Everyone is screaming for attention, whether covertly or overtly.  With so many choices, where do we lend our ear?

Actually, it’s not the incessant noise from the outside that gets our attention, but that nonstop chatter within our minds.  It is hard to distinguish just how many different voices there might be locked within those vague parameters.

One way to comprehend this whole cacophony is to separate out the sound to two different sources.  This may seem overly simplistic, but does represent our situation.  When we “stereo” out the two channels we are left with either LOVE or fear.

Fear represents itself as a hydra-headed monster, something that appears big and intimidating, but has no more power than a paper dragon.  It is always accompanied by that wonderful sinking feeling that everything is going to hell, if not now, soon.  An ear to fear (ego) never bodes well.  Its origins are found in separation and mortality, accompanied by a wardrobe resplendent with guilt.  What fun.

LOVE, on the other hand, who awaits our invitation for a spiritual-makeover at the slightest sign, is always giddy about the possibilities with feelings of JOY and PEACE.  Unlike fear, whose voice ranges from loud talking to outright screams, LOVE gently whispers sweet somethings, when it can get a word in edgewise.
